There are times when we feel that our problems are so big that we become depressed. When such a feeling comes, spend times to take a look and reflect the world around us: the beauty of trees, mountains, streams. They stagger the imagination.

If our life is getting us down; if our problems seem insurmountable, take a walk. Look around, below and above us. Draw close to a tree and touch its bark, examine its leaves. Feel the wonder of His creation.

If our problems felt so huge, look up into heavens at night. Gazing at planets and stars light-years away, we will feel that Allah is great. By the way, our earth is just like a dust floating in the universe. Allahu Akbar! We are just tiny, and so are our problems.

Viewing and considering such magnificence puts everything into perspective. Rather than complaining of dozens of problems in our life, prioritize a problem solving approach and ask Allah for help! With the help of Allah, ‘impossible’ will be ‘possible’. “And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive (to Allah)” (Qur’an 2: 45). “And when My servants ask you (O Muhammad), concerning Me-indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me..(Quran, 2: 186).

Rather than talking about all the hardship that hijack our life, thank Allah for the heavens, the sun, the moon, the stars, good health, healthy family and children, good friends, good community, good job,  good education, berkah, iman and Islam. Avoid saying: “Look everybody, my problems are big”, but say: “Look mates, Allah is great and He will help me to solve my problems!”
